Brian James “BJ” Vrazel was born on September 22, 2004, and passed peacefully on October 31, 2026.
BJ grew up driving tractors, playing with tractors, and practically breathing tractors. He was behind the wheel before he could even walk. From an early age, it was clear that machinery was more than just an interest to BJ; it was a passion that would stay with him throughout his life.
BJ found his love for carpentry through his first set of Lincoln logs at the ripe age of 7. That boy could make you a whole town in minutes. He continued his carpentry through mini projects and graduated to fixing houses. He loved to help others and he took pride in everything he did. He worked at his own pace and was never afraid to take on a challenge.
After graduating from Danbury High School, class of 2023, he started his early career with the DISD maintenance team. Recently, he began his dream job with Brazoria County Precinct 2, where he was excited for the machinery! BJ was known for his strong work ethic and for his dedication to his work. He had a natural talent for figuring things out and an incredible ability to fix just about anything. He could look at a broken engine, know exactly what was wrong, and have it running again as if nothing had ever happened. There wasn't much he couldn't figure out, and he genuinely loved working with his hands and seeing a job through.
BJ also knew how to enjoy the things he loved outside of work. His music was never far away, whether it was his favorite country songs or Mexican OT playing in the background. He loved talking about his day, sharing the details of what he had been working on, and especially telling stories about getting to operate a new machine. He loved his friends, enjoyed sharing stories about their adventures, and always looked forward to the next time they would get together.
And, of course, there was Dr. Pepper. BJ loved it so much that, by this point, you could probably say it had become his blood! You would hardly ever see him without a can in his hands.
BJ was one of a kind, and those who knew him will remember him for exactly that. He will be missed more than words can express, but the memories of the young man he was, the things he loved, and the life he lived will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He was the greatest son, and the best big brother!
BJ is survived by his parents, Philip and Rosario Vrazel; his sisters, Leslie, Brittany, and Brinley Vrazel and half sister Samantha Martinez; and MANY loving aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin Vrazel and Mildred Vrazel, and Benigo and Felicitas Alvarez.
