Brenda Sue Mills Andrews was born on August 23, 1941 in Freeport, Texas and passed away into the arms of Jesus on December 17, 2024 in Lake Jackson, Texas. Brenda was the 2nd of four children born to Beatrice L (Henson) and Eddie C Mills. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Joan L. Tunstall and husband Jimmie, her niece, Deanna Lynn Tunstall and her brother, Richard T. Mills.
She leaves her two boys, Shawn Robert Andrews, wife Marla, and two grandsons, Grant and wife Ky’ara Cole, great-granddaughter Anneliese and John Cole; son, Dean Paul Andrews, wife Carrie, and two grandsons, Cameron and Ethan Andrews. Her sister, Eddie Raye (Mills) and brother-in-law Donald G. Andrews, her sister-in-law, Debi Mills and her nieces and nephews: Stacey Andrews Teer, Scott Andrews, Terry Tunstall, Johnny Tunstall, Jimmy Mills, Eddie Mills and Gina Wilson along with numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and her special friend, Sandy Miller. Brenda so loved all her family and friends and enjoyed being around all of them especially holidays.
After graduating from Angleton High School in 1959, she went to Durham Business College in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation, she started a long career (almost 40 years) with Dow Chemical Company. While at Dow, she participated in the newly organized Professional Secretarial Association for many years. Her guys in her departments always loved when Brenda would do some cooking or baking and share with them all.
Her greatest passion after her boys was her cooking. She was well known in the Brazosport area for her famous cookies, candy, casseroles and soups. She would always look at recipes either in a magazine or cookbook or from a friend/family and try. If she liked, she would type up for her cookbook, giving the individual credit, and share with all of us. She was even once written up in The Facts for her cooking. She so loved teaching all of her family how to cook and even shared her knowledge with a children’s home in Oyster Creek.
Brenda also had a green thumb and loved her gardening (begonias) and belonged to the Lone Star Begonia Society in Houston where she would share her cuttings with everyone.
She leaves behind a legacy that has been passed along among her family.
