Annie Eva Degges Morgan

Annie Eva Degges Morgan, 91½ years young, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on December 19, 2025.

Eva was born on June 7, 1934, near Hamburg, Arkansas, to Ira Dwight Degges and Annie Eva (Gibbs) Degges. She was preceded in death by her parents and was the last surviving member of seven siblings: Francis Walker, Lamar Degges, Leslie Degges, Marceil Davis, Donald Degges, and Thomas Degges.

Eva is survived by her son, Eric Morgan and his wife, Hongxia, of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughter, Melzi “Melanie” Willits and her husband, Michael, of San Antonio, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren, Morgan Willits and Kirsten Willits of San Antonio, and Scott Morgan and Calvin Morgan of Fort Worth.

Eva earned her bachelor’s degree from Arkansas A&M College, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She began her professional life teaching home economics in Casper, Wyoming, before marrying and relocating to Houston, Texas. There, she became a registered dietitian and devoted 25 years of service to the City of Houston Health Department, where she made a lasting impact on the community through her work in public health.

A longtime and faithful member of Westbury Baptist Church in Houston, Eva supported God’s work through prayer and generous giving to missions. Her quiet faith, dedication, and servant’s heart were evident to all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at Westbury Baptist Church, 10425 Hillcroft, Houston, Texas, on January 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
