Anita Sue Williamson

Anita Sue Williamson, 84, of Angleton, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on July 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on October 10, 1941, in Honey Grove, Texas, Sue lived a life defined by love, creativity, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

Sue was the proud co-owner of the Angleton Flower Shop alongside her beloved husband, Brad Williamson. Through her passion for floral design, she touched countless lives, bringing beauty and comfort to weddings, celebrations, and times of remembrance. Her artistic talent and caring spirit left a lasting impression on the community she faithfully served.

Beyond their work at the flower shop, Sue and Brad shared a deep commitment to serving others. Together, they devoted countless hours to Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon, opening not only their hearts but also their home to those seeking hope and healing. They were instrumental in the creation of Brazos Place, a recovery center in Freeport, where they helped countless individuals begin new chapters in their lives.

Many holidays were shared with those the family affectionately called Mom and Dad’s “AA babies.” Their door was always open, and they were always ready to offer a helping hand or a listening ear. Sue believed everyone deserved love, encouragement, and a second chance. Her table always had room for one more, and she never hesitated to be there for anyone in need.

Sue also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking for her family, reading a good book, cheering on the Houston Rockets, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and award ceremonies. A lady who appreciated routine and self-care, she never missed her weekly Wednesday hair and nail appointments. Above all, Sue treasured the time she spent surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Sue leaves behind a loving family who will forever honor her legacy. She is survived by her four devoted children: Brian Williamson and his wife, Patricia; Richard Williamson and his wife, Sherrie; Wendy Bryant; and Heather Rivera and her husband, Javier.

She was the proud grandmother of Blake Rose and his wife, Macie; Brian Williamson Jr.; Brittney Bannert and her husband, Ryan; Stephanie Smith and her husband, Paul; Christina Georges and her husband, Trent; MaKenna Bryant; Alexander Rivera and his wife, Laja; Nicole Scott and her husband Riley; Jessica Rivera and her fiancé, Carson; Joshua Williamson; Bethany Williamson; and Chase Williamson.

Sue was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren: Brad Bannert, Claire Bannert, Grey Ince, Preslee Toomer, Hailey Toomer, Sutton Georges, and Kendall Rivera.

She is also survived by her beloved brother, Ed Brantley and sister in law Kristin Doughty.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Brad” Bradbury Williamson, parents, Elgie and Gertrude (Alton) Brantley, and her brother, James Brantley.

Those who knew Sue will remember her warm heart, welcoming smile, generous nature, and the joy she found in making others feel loved. Whether through a beautifully arranged bouquet, a home-cooked meal, or simply her comforting presence, she had a remarkable way of making people feel special. Her love, grace, and compassion will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at Palms Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., also at Palms Funeral Home. Following the service, Sue will be laid to rest Angleton Cemetery, 328 Cemetery Road, Angleton, Texas 77515.

In this time of mourning, the family takes comfort in the beautiful memories shared with Sue—a woman whose laughter filled every room, whose kindness touched countless hearts, and whose love will remain forever etched in their souls. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the many lives she touched with her generous spirit. Though she will be deeply missed, she will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed with the privilege of knowing and loving her.

The Williamson family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the many acts of kindness, prayers, flowers, and expressions of sympathy shown during this difficult time. Sue and her family would be honored by gifts of flowers.

The family would also like to extend special thanks to Sue’s closest friends, Danyett Holcomb, Cheryl Bagley, Elke White, Pat Green and Jim Ed Powell, for their loving care, companionship, and many meaningful conversations. Special thanks are also extended to Bonnie Cowling for her prayers and to IPH Home Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care provided to Sue.
