Angelita "Angie" Latapie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angelita Perez Latapie, affectionately known as Angie, who departed this life on June 29, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on October 1, 1960, in Taft, Texas, Angie became a cherished resident of Brazoria County for the past 20 years, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering faith.

Angie was a dedicated mother to her son, Nicholas Latapie, and a doting grandmother to her beloved grandchild, Killian Latapie. Known also as Aunt Helo, Angie leaves behind her loving niece, Priscilla Maldonado, her supportive brother, Juan Maldonado, and his wife, Dolores, as well as her dear sister, Alice Garza, and brother-in-law, Rick. Angie is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, one great-great nephew, and a multitude of cherished cousins. Each of them will carry her memory and spirit in their hearts forever.

A proud member of the Red Hats Society, Angie was an active participant in her community and her church. She devoted her time to the Catholic Daughters, Guadalupanas, and the Legion of Mary, where she found joy in serving others. Her passion for crafting and baking brought delight to family gatherings and church events, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of sampling her creations. Angie’s faith was central to her life, and she was an eager member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she actively contributed her time and talents, creating a strong sense of community and fellowship among her fellow parishioners.

In honor of her life, funeral services will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas.
