Alma Delia Damian, 72, of Pasadena passed away on August 15, 2025. Alma was born on November 5, 1952, in Angleton to Thomas and Mercedes (Espinoza) Damian.
Alma Delia Damian was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was super proud of her son Vincent who became a College Professor at the University of Houston. She enjoyed being a mother-figure to her nieces and nephews and their grandchildren. She volunteered her time with her congregation as a Jehovah's Witness. She read and interpreted the bible on a daily basis. Her other hobbies included listening and dancing to Tejano music - especially Gary Hobbs, Little Joe and Grupo Mazz. She loved going to the movies or watching them at home with her son. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, her favorite was Goodwill but she also loved Macy's and Ulta. Her other hobbies included going to the gym and attending her weekly Zumba class. She recently took up yoga as well.
Alma had a strong and loyal work ethic, first in custodial services for more than 20 years at Intermedics and then later as a Teacher’s Aide at Pasadena Independent School District and eventually World of Children – her sister Belinda’s daycare. She was extremely resilient and strong, having overcome multiple illnesses over the last 15 years of her life, which was when she was first diagnosed with Lymphoma and beat it.Alma was kind to just about everyone she came across, often buying food for strangers. She was always giving and would ask you, “what do you need? She always put others first, especially her son. She had a contagious smile and a smooth way of making everyone feel seen and loved. Her passion for teaching and education inspired many, and she will be remembered for her unwavering optimism, positivity, radiance, and her ability to find the good in every situation. Her legacy will be one of sacrifice and dedication to her son Vincent, whom she loved dearly.
Those that preceded her in death include her parents, Thomas and Mercedes, her brothers Frank, Raymond, Zeke, Tommy, Lewis and Johnny Joe.
Alma is survived by her son Vincent D. Carales and her siblings: Belinda, Virginia, Diane, Richard, James and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Palms Funeral Home.
