With heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother Allen Olvera, who left this world far too soon at 30 years of age.
Allen passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2025. Allen was born on November 27, 1994, in Galveston to Alvaro (Al) Olvera and Ivonne Olvera.
From an early age, Allen had an adventurous spirit and lived his life the way that he wanted it. He was a free-spirited young man with a passion for weightlifting. Allen won many powerlifting competitions; and when he was younger, he set the Texas State squad record for his class.
Allen was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He had a heart full of generosity, always willing to help, support, and uplift those that he knew. He was kind, silly and sweet, and always willing to lend a hand. His love for family and friends was indisputable and his smile would always light up the room.
Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on those that knew him will last a lifetime. His love, strength, and beautiful spirit will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Left to remember him are his parents Alvaro (Al) Olvera and Ivonne Olvera and his siblings. Two sisters, Aimee Olvera and Audi Olvera, and his younger brother, best friend, and confidant Jeremy Olvera (Ana Arroyo). Allen got to meet and play with his nephews Ambrose and Luca Olvera, and he was always excited to see them. And all his dogs, Boxers and poodles that he adored and played with every day, will miss him greatly, especially because they are not going to have anyone sneaking them extra food.
Allen was the older brother, and he always took his job seriously. His brother and sisters were very important to him, and he loved them and respected them dearly. The love for each other created lasting memories that will be forever cherished and moments they experienced together will continue to shine in their hearts.
Also left to mourn him are his uncles and aunts, many cousins which he loved deeply and sincerely, and his friends and coworkers at Marquis Industrial Services.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
