Alice Angeline Martinets, 92 of Freeport, Texas passed away on June 18, 2026. Alice was born on June 8, 1934 to Frank J. Selucky & Maria N. (Mary) Strmiska Selucky in Granger, Texas.
She is survived by her son, Darvin L. (Natalie) Martinets, Jr. of Angleton, Texas and daughter, Beverly Martinets of Austin, Texas. Sisters Joyce Hudson of Temple, Texas and Norma Varhalla of Leander, Texas and many nieces, nephews, cousins & step grandchild & step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Darvin L. Martinets, Sr. and grandson Jody Martinets, parents Frank E. Selucky and Mary Strmiska Selucky and brother Gilbert Selucky of Belton, Texas.
Alice was a devoted mother & grandmother. She was very active in her Catholic faith and attended St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was very active in the KJZT organization and service. She worked for the United States Postal Service for over 25 years and was often recognized long after by so many that met her over the years as she greeted them as she walked her mail routes or helped them as a postal clerk. She most enjoyed just being at home, cooking delicious food, baking the best traditional Czech kolaches, tending to her beautiful plants and taking care of her dream home, she and her husband built on the Brazos River after their retirement.
There will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 am with a rosary at 10:30 by the ladies of the KJZT on June 25, 2026, followed by mass at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 100 Oak Dr. S, Lake Jackson, Texas at 11:00 a.m. There will be a reception following for friends & family in the parish hall following the service with food & drinks provided by the ladies of St. Michael’s. A private family graveside service will follow at Restwood Memorial Park, 1038 W. Plantation Dr., Clute, Texas where she will be laid to rest between her husband & grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Dementia Society of America (https://Dementia Society of America/), the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org/ or any other similar organizations.
