Alena Rena Flowerree Branch, age 61, of Angleton, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Alena was born on January 30, 1964 in Munich, Germany; however, she grew up and spent her life in Angleton, Texas. Alena led a beautiful life filled with love, loyalty, and so much laughter.
Alena is survived by her mother, Judy Willis, sisters, Mindy Dollinger and Lori Gardner, brothers, Chad Willis and James Flowerree IV., her four children- son, Timothy Branch and long-time daughter in law, Gabrielle Branch and their daughters, Madilynn and Margo Branch, daughter, Kalynn Roderick and long-time son in law, Tyson Roderick and their sons Weston and Jaxton Roderick, son, Colin Branch and his son Bruce Branch, and son, Thomas Branch. She is preceded in death by her father, James Flowerree III., and her loving dad, Monroe Eugene (Sonny) Willis.
Alena was very smart. After graduating from University of Houston- Clear Lake, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a focus in Algebra, she married her high-school sweetheart, former husband, Bruce Branch. She spent the majority of her life homeschooling her four children, leading a large Sunday School class, volunteering at the Pregnancy Help Center, teaching and developing programs at the Lighthouse Learning Center and tutoring students in high level mathematics.
She was also a free-spirit; loving the beach, reggae music, birdwatching, and all things relating to nature. Above all else, she loved her kids and grandkids immensely. She loved “hanging out” for dance parties, baking, and sleepovers; never to be confused with “babysitting!”
Until the end, Alena was a dedicated follower of Christ and led many people to know his name through ministry, counseling and teaching. Alena made such an impression on so many lives. She will be deeply missed, but with every yellow butterfly we see or heart-shaped rock we find, we will know her spirit will live on forever.
Please join us for the memorial at Palms Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Visitation starts at 11:00am and services will begin at 12:00pm.
