IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dr. Alan Tristram
Kilpatrick

Dr. Alan Tristram Kilpatrick
October 4, 1941 – December 26, 2025
Alan Tristram Kilpatrick, age 84, of Angleton, Texas, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Houston, Texas, due to complications from pneumonia and heart failure.
Alan was born on October 4, 1941, in Pasadena, California, to Lillian and Paul Kilpatrick, and grew up in Berkeley, California. As a young man, he was drafted into military service and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, including service in the Vietnam War. Alan carried the strength and grit of that experience throughout his life. Even when he was graised by a bullet he kept on fighting and when offered the purple heart he turned it down saying others deserved it more. He also served as a chaplain’s assistant (body guard).
Alan saved many lives including his own by using his trust in God and listening to His voice to guide him. With these stories he enjoyed passing on to his family and others to always have faith, trust in God, pray and be thankful.
Alan pursued higher education at UC Berkeley and California State University, East Bay (Hayward). He built a life rooted in hard work and lifelong learning, working for many years in insurance and real estate. He took pride in understanding markets and building toward the future, and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge of real estate and stock market investing with others—especially his family.
Alan was married to the love of his life JoAnn Kilpatrick, for 55 years before her passing. Together they built a strong family foundation filled with love, loyalty, support, travel, adventures and a curiosity for everything and everyone. They moved from San Fransico Bay area to Texas in 2017 to be closer to their beloved grandson.
Alan will be deeply missed by his children; daughter Laura Crisp (her husband Rodney), son Jason Kilpatrick, grandson Ryan Crisp, Brother-in-law Bill Kubasek (wife Anna), along with his extended family and his friends.
Those who knew Alan will remember him as inquisitive, an avid reader, and a true world traveler. He had a mind that never stopped exploring. He loved reading—especially books about history especially about Egypt, Egyptian hieroglyphs and co authored a book that includes his translation of the Egyptian Hieroglyphs. Alan enjoyed collecting gems and minerals, taking on science projects, and learning anything he could about how the world worked. He was always willing to teach others, share what he knew, and encourage his children’s interests. If you needed help or had a problem, Alan would be there—ready to talk, listen, and guide.
Alan enjoyed spending time with his church group. Above all, he was a man who stayed engaged with life, asked questions, and never stopped learning.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM, at Palms Funeral Home, 2300 E Mulberry St, Angleton, TX.
Alan’s legacy lives on through the family he loved, the knowledge he shared, the curiosity he lived by, and the strength he carried throughout his life.
