Mildred Ruth "Tudy" Wilson, 76, of Angleton passed away at the Pearland Medical Central on Saturday, August 18 in Pearland, TX after long courageous battles with cancer. She was born in Elizabethton, TN on June 4, 1942. Her parents were Dayton and Maude Payne. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 am in Palms Funeral Home. Visitors will be received by the family from 10-11:00 am on Thursday, August 23. Mildred loved being the hostess to her family and friends. Hospitality was the rule of her home never letting anyone go hungry that came to visit. She always took special joy in spoiling hern grandkids. They knew grandma would never say no. She loved the cats and dogs her children would bring home, as well as gardening and caring for her yard. Her flower beds were never without her beautiful daylilies and roses. She was highly supportive during her children's education and was active in the Purple Pride band boosters during her children's band years. While her health allowed she attended First Baptist Church Brazoria in Brazoria, TX. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Sinna Grindstaff, mother Maude Payne, father Dayton Payne and brother-in-law Danny Ray Elliott. Mildred is survived by her children; Jeffrey Wilson (Kimberly), Jessica Wilson, and Joanna Wilson, siblings; Ronnie Payne (Joan), Randy Payne (Debbie), Linda Elliott, Rodney Payne (Jean), grandchildren; Miri Ruth, Stephen Dannon, Kaede Rene Merchant, and Kirsten E Merchant, as well as Laura Jo Martinez and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other friends. Services will be officiated by Brother Greg Smith, Pastor at First Baptist Church Brazoria. The pallbearers will be Ronnie Payne, Nelson Ward, Gary Mercer, Jake Landry, Lloyd Brown, Archie McDougald. Honorary pallbearers Robert Mercer, Richard Ward, Laura Jo Martinez, Willie Riggs, Frank Riggs, Shelby Vernor, Stephen Wilson, and Miri Wilson. The family would like to add a special thank you to UTMB Dr. Jaramillo and Baylor College of medicine Dr. Mandel and Dr. Garrett Lynch III (ret) and Methodist Hospital Dr. Baskin.
