Melba Mccormack Davis

Melba McCormack Davis Melba Florence McCormack Davis was sent from Heaven on January 5, 1925, in Spindletop, Texas, to Ruth McCarty McCormack and Joseph Alfred McCormack. She was the eldest of six children. She returned to Heaven on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Awaiting her there were her parents, her sister, Ruby Lee McCormack Clem Fuchs, her brothers, William Patrick McCormack, Edmund Earl McCormack, and Joseph Alfred McCormack, Jr, her husband and the love of her life, McWillie Davis, and her daughter, Nancy Davis Smith Runkel. Those left to cherish her memory are: her sister, Betty Ruth McCormack Setzer, her sister in law, Helen Newell McCormack, her daughter, Eloise Davis Lostak and her husband, Lonnie, her daughter, Dorothy Davis Cotton, and her husband Gary, her grandchildren, Michael McWillie Cotton and his wife, Heidi Bollock, Lane Lostak and his wife, Kristin, Melissa Cotton Womack and her husband Andrew, Libba Lostak Rickaway and her husband, Matt, and Kaci McCall Smith, her great-grandchildren, Jack Michael Lostak, Jake Gregory Rickaway, Jude Cotton Womack, Emma A'Lane Lostak, Ian Cotton Womack, Owen Robert Cotton, and Myles McLane Rickaway, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Davis received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Texas State College for Women and her Masters of Education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She taught numerous grades, subjects, and various programs throughout her 38 loyal years with Angleton ISD. During her life, Melba lost many of her loved ones, often unexpectedly, and she was borne through these tragedies by her immense faith in Jesus Christ and the Grace of God. She never tired of learning more about Christianity, and travelled to Israel and Egypt to see the lands of the Bible first hand. Her curiosity about the world extended to almost any subject imaginable, and she took joy in reading and learning until her very last days. Mrs. Davis's visitation is scheduled at Palms Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 10:30 am at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church with burial to follow at Angleton Cemetery. The family would like to express our appreciation to Beverley Hughes, Irma Dominguez, and Hospice Care Team for our mother's care. In lieu of floral tributes, monetary donations may be made to Holy Comforter Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
