Funeral services for Maureen Patricia Vrazel, 77, of Danbury, TX will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 9, 2021, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, October 8, 2021, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00pm that evening. Maureen was born April 7, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY to Woodford "Woodie" and Rose Girardo Irwin. She passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, in Galveston, Tx. Maureen was a graduate of Brazosport High School, class of 1962 in Freeport, TX. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell when she met the love of her life Florin, at the Brazoria County Fair in Angleton, TX. She was a homemaker, a clerk at the ADGH admissions office, a chiropractic assistant at the Hurst Chiropractic Center in Angleton, she also worked at the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station in Angleton before retiring from the Ramsey II Stringfellow Unit in Rosharon, TX as a records clerk. She volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary at the ADGH and most recently at the Pregnancy Help Center in Lake Jackson, TX. She was an active member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury and a member of the Legion of Mary and the Ladies of Saint Anthony's. She was also a beloved CCE teacher for many years. Maureen was known to many as daughter, niece, sister, mother, Grammy, Great Grammy, a prayer warrior, and friend. Her hobbies included birdwatching, baking, crocheting, and she looked forward every month to playing bunco with the bunco ladies of Danbury since 1971. She was an avid reader and loved to garden. She saw beauty in all things big and small. Her love for Christ is the legacy she leaves with all of us. She was an example to her family of how to love, how to forgive, how to pray and trust in our Lord, Jesus Christ. Her loving words of wisdom and encouragement will be truly missed. She loved her family and made every occasion special by her presence, her love and preserving family traditions. She is preceded in death by her father, Woodford "Woodie" and her mother, Rose Irwin. She is survived by her husband Florin Vrazel, Sr. of Danbury; children, Melissa Vrazel of Angleton, Velecia Chaney and husband Mark of Spring, TX, Sonny Vrazel and wife Amy of Danbury, Woodford Vrazel and wife Beverly of Lake Jackson, Chris Vrazel and wife Sharon of Danbury; grandchildren, Christina Springston and husband Daniel of Lake Jackson, with their two children Everett and Sadie. Candace Vrazel of Danbury, with son Major. Andrew Ramirez of St. Louis, MO. Amanda Margoliner and husband Bradley of Angleton, with their two children Vallen and Asher. Bailey Hammack and husband Taylor of Danbury, with their two children Harper and Tatum. Zachary Craven and wife Amber of Edwards, CO. Taylor Vrazel and fianc Emmitt of Richwood, with their two children Sawyer and Cora. Marcus Ramirez of Austin, TX. Florin Vrazel, III of Alvin, TX. Hagan Vrazel of Chicago, IL. Meredith Shoemake and fianc Maeson of Santa Fe, TX. Morgan Vrazel of Richwood, TX. Branson Vrazel of Sherman, TX. Alexander Vrazel of Lake Jackson. Francessca Vrazel of Danbury. Ryan Vrazel of Danbury; sisters, Brenda Smith and husband Louie of Danbury, and Georgia Rice and husband Tommy of Brazoria TX.
