Julius A. "Jay" Pustejovsky, 79 of Danbury passed away Friday, January 31, 2014. Julius is the son of the late Mr. August F. and Mrs. Agnes Pustejovsky of Danbury, Texas. He was born in 1934 in Shiner, Texas and received his grade school education in Angleton and Danbury Public Schools. After two years of study at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, he entered the novitiate at Grand Coteau in 1954. From 1958 to 1961 he studied at Spring Hill College, receiving an A.B. in education and German and an M.A in philosophy; after that he taught at Jesuit High School in Tampa, before beginning his theological studies at St, Mary's College in 1964. He also studied Russian at Fordham and Indiana University. Julius was ordained on June 7, 1967 and celebrated his First Mass of Thanksgiving on June 11, 1967 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Danbury. Julius went on to work for NASA as the Supervisor of the Onboard Documentation Support Group where he worked on flight data base managing, editing and production. He was awarded the Silver Snoopy Award in October of 1999 presented by the late Scott Alderman. He was always fond of language and reading. Mr. Pustejovsky was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Jane Garner; brother, Richard Pustejovsky; and nieces, Laura and Lisa. Survivors include his sister, Lydia Rice and husband Delmer; brother-in-law, Stony Garner and wife, LaVern; nephews, Steve Garner, Larry Rice and Chris Garner; nieces, Sandra Loftin, Patricia Busch, Theresa Dorgan and Leslie McKinney and numerous great nieces and nephews.
