George Joseph Prilop, 86, a 58 years resident of Angleton passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Houston. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Maurice Restivo at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-7 with Christian Wake & Rosary at 7:00 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. George was born March 28, 1926 in LaGrange, Texas to George Henry & Mary Pauline Kubala Prilop. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II and fought at the Battle of Iwo Jima. A member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church , he was a devoted and active 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus for 67 years, serving as financial secretary for over 40 years. George was the manager of the Angleton Lumber company for over 30 years. He loved anything to do with lumber and woodworking. He donated countless hours of carpentry and cabinet building to the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady Queen of Peace School , the Catholic Church and many other charities. George was a gentle man with a loving and generous heart. He was a devoted Husband, Dad & Papa and he will be missed always. George was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lucille Frazer. Survivors include his devoted wife of 65 years, Dolores Janda Prilop, son; Donald Prilop & wife Robbye of Brazoria, daughters; Alice Prilop of Houston & LuAnn Hill & husband Kevin of Tyler, Tx. Brother; Jerry Prilop & wife Ann of Manchaca, Tx Grandchildren; Allyson McDonough (Loren), Valerie Prilop, Nathan Prilop (Cherri Ann), Matthew Hill, ( Meghan), Aaron Hill ( Olivia) & Madison Hill. Great-Grandchildren; Ashlyn, Meaghan & Liam McDonough & Silas Prilop. Pallbearers will be M.C. Gregory, Nathan Prilop, John Prilop, Steve Prilop, Matthew Hill & Aaron Hill.
