Dorothy Ann Thane

Proverbs 31:28 Dorothy Ann Andrews Thane, 74, of Angleton, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2015. Services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Second Baptist Church, 1817 Shanks Rd., Angleton, Texas. Burial will immediately follow the service at Angleton Cemetery in Angleton. There will be a visitation prior to the services on December 26, 2015 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Second Baptist Church. Dorothy was born October 31, 1941 to Jack Dewey and Mary Ellen Johnson Andrews in Oakhurst, Texas. She married the love of her life, Alfred Thane on August 26, 1960 in Lake Jackson, Texas. They celebrated 55 years together. Dorothy was active through the years with the youth and taught Sunday school at her church (Second Baptist Church of Angleton), and was a part of the Garden Club in Angleton in the early days of her marriage. She worked alongside her husband in their business Alfred's Shoes in the 70's. She also worked for Angleton ISD (27 years) at Westside Elementary from 1980 until her retirement in 2007. Dorothy loved working with children. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Thane of Angleton; Daughters: Pella Thane Vasut of Angleton, and Parrish Elaine Gayle & husband James "Chip" of Angleton; Grandchildren: Krystal Vasut Hawk & husband Billy of College Station, Cody Thane Vasut & wife Kate of Angleton, and Jessica Elizabeth Gayle of Angleton; Great-Grandchildren: Bronson, Braylon, and Grafton Hawk of College Station; Brothers: Robert Andrews & wife Julie of Sugarland, Gerald Andrews & wife Serena of Lake Jackson, Howard Andrews & wife Dorothy of Houston; Brother-in-law: Billy Thane of Angleton; Sister-in-laws: Betty Dickschat of Navasota, Bobbie Burke & husband Cyril of Cypress, Sandra Bosse & husband Clint of Washington; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; and numerous brother and sister-in-laws. Pallbearers will be: Cody Vasut, James R. "Chip" Gayle IV, Michael Andrews, Trevor Andrews, Paul Thane, Dennis Thane, Darrin Thane, and Ken Eberspacher. Honorary Pallbearers will be her brothers. The family requests that any donations made in Dorothy's name be made to: The Alzheimer's Association (The Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter) or Westside Elementary (Angleton ISD) Music department.
