Donald Joe Bulanek Funeral services for Donald Joe Bulanek, , 83, of Danbury will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Danbury Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Danbury Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Palms Funeral Home. Donald Joe was born January 12, 1930 in Freeport to Joe G and Julia Skrabanek Bulanek Donald Joe was a lifelong farmer and rancher, a graduate of Danbury High School Class of 1948 where he was a star athlete. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Bryce Canyon from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Donald Joe was an avid fisherman, hunter and most of all enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He was always kind, giving, caring and had a positive and lasting impact on all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Martha Bulanek Marek, Julia Bulanek Denton Hamusek, and Clara Bulanek Walker. Donald Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years Clara Pearl Christensen of Danbury, children, Darlene Kern and husband, Tony of Angleton, Donald Joe Bulanek, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Danbury, Pat Bulanek and wife, Vanessa of Angleton, Judy Kay and husband, Randy of Angleton, Nelson Bulanek and wife Diana of Danbury, Sister Evelyn Bulanek Davis of Hitchcock, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will his grandsons and great grandson, Tony Kern, Jr., Lee Kay, Patrick Bulanek, D. J. Bulanek III, Joe Bulanek, Bradley Bulanek, Kyler Kern.
