Carla Shropshire Lewis left our world for a better place on 5/4/2024 after a short illness. Carla was born on 8/25/1969 in Lubbock, TX. She is survived by her loving husband Mike "Lou" Lewis of Angleton, Texas; daughters Lexi Garrity and Addison Ford, and son Noah Ford. She is also survived by her father Jack Shropshire (Kala), mother Carolann Garrity, and siblings Lisa Sellers (Jeff), Steven Shropshire (Sonya), Jason Shropshire (Brandi), Leslie Novotny (Petr), Anthony Garrity (Bonnie), James Garrity (Jessie), Robert Garrity, and Charlie Garrity (Missy). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Brandon Adkins (Terri), Brooke Newsome {Glen), Brittany Barela (Jonathan), Brenna Corgill (Zach), Bryce Adkins, Katie Shropshire, Dean Garrity, and Amber Garrity as well as 9 great nieces and nephews. Carla was preceded in death by her stepfather Robert Garrity Sr. and brother David Garrity.
Carla was a beautiful woman who never went anywhere without making sure she looked her best. She was a walking fashion statement. But even better than the way she looked was the way she friended people. She lived in many places in her life and made friends everywhere she went. She could talk to anyone but she was also a good listener. People would call her with their problems and she would offer them advice. She was both funny and fun-loving. She loved to travel, especially to Puerto Villarta. She liked to be active and loved snow skiing, drag races, fishing, hunting and her life at Lake Somerville. She was constantly on the move but when she managed to sit still, she loved to watch Law & Order and the Lifetime Movie Network.
A celebration of life will be held for Carla at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton on Thursday 5/23/2024 at 2:00 PM with a short visitation from 1:30 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
A second celebration of life will be held at Lake Somerville so that her lake friends can give her a proper farewell. A final celebration of life will be held in November with all of her family present.
