Bernice Thane Hammond, 77, formerly of Angleton, Texas passed away on October 25, 2015 in Austin, Texas. She was born July 10, 1938 to Paul & Sophie (Nemann) Thane in Navasota, Texas. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Second Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas with Pastor Chris Moore officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Angleton Cemetery. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Bernice was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She known for her smile, her laugh, and her openness in sharing her Christian faith. Bernice was a retiree from Victoria Bank & Trust in Angleton, Texas She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Clyde Hammond and her parents, Paul & Sophie (Nemann) Thane. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Stephen Hammond, her daughter, Stephanie Eberspacher and her husband, Ken, brothers; Alfred Thane & Billy Thane, sisters; Bobbie Burke, Sandra Bosse, and Betty Dickschat, as well as her grandchildren; Kimber Eberspacher, Kenny "Trey" Eberspacher, and Jacob Eberspacher.
