Reuben Drayton Grimes, Jr., 73, of Angleton passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2008 in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel with David Smith & Sonny Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 pm at Palms.
Reuben was born February 6, 1935 in VeraCruz, Mexico to Reuben Drayton & Oliva Bond Grimes, Sr., and had lived in the area for most of his lifetime. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother James William Grimes, sister, Anna Self, and is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Grimes, son, Reuben “Jo Jo” Joseph Grimes, daughters, Joan Alene Guined and husband Tony, Frances Elaine Casper and husband David all of Angleton. Siblings, Rebecca Hassenbech of Houston , Robert F. Grimes of Alabama, and Katie Lockheart of Arkansas. Grandchildren Tony Guined, Jr. and wife Jessica, Emily Guined, David Saddle Casper, Cody Casper, great grandchild Kemper Guined, uncles, Carlyle Goff, Bill Goff, and Marvin Goff, aunt, Alice May Donnell.
Pallbearers will be Jo Jo Grimes, Tony Guined, Sr., David Casper, Tony Guined, Jr., Saddle Casper, and Cody Casper.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Leonard Moore, Robert Shell, Jim Griffen, Travis Schuerg, Leslie Harris, and Bret Collard.
