Melvin Cothron

Melvin Cothron, 68 of Angleton, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008.

He was born in Galveston, Texas to Richard & Fannie Sebesta Cothron on May 11, 1940.
Melvin served his country in the United States Armed Forces and was honorably discharged in 1966.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Cothron; daughter, Brenda Swan; brothers, John and Walter Cothron; and step-son, David Ferguson.

Melvin leaves behind many loved ones including his wife, Joyce Cothron; mother, Fannie Cothron; daughters, Tammie Dudley and husband Reginald and Janie Murchison; step-son, Floyd Ferguson; brothers, Wayne Cothron and wife Ruth Ann; sisters, Patsy Rodriguez and husband Frankie, Janett Holden; brother-in-laws, Joe Smith and wife Janice, Buddy Smith; sister-in-laws, Sue Davidson, Carrie Jane Griffin, Laura Lee and husband Bobby and Woolie Mae Blassingem. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

Melvin’s family will receive family and friends on Sunday, November 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Angleton Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Frankie Rodriguez, Reginald Dudley, Simon Rodriguez, Eric Powers, Michael Holden, Jr., Wayne Cothron, Jr. and Paul Rodriguez.
