Sarah Estaline Barnes Donnell of Angleton (formally Richwood). "Shorty", "NanNo", "Granny" was 87 when she went to be home with Jesus on June 25, 2010 (just 8 days after her loving husband Dave of 65 years). Born 9/15/22 in Anna, TX to Dixie May McKinney and Perry Simpson Barnes. Sarah grew up as a farmer's daughter in Lazbuddie, TX in the Panhandle. After graduation she went out to "see the world" and later joined the Navy Waves where she served 3 years during WWII. After marrying her sweetheart she met on Guam (the late David F. Donnell Sr.) she became a domestic engineer (or homemaker) where she held the home together with a clean home, lot's of love, and supper on the table. Always fun loving and full of silly jokes, Sarah enjoyed camping, bowling, and bridge with friends and family. She was a natural athlete and basketball was her favorite with the Houston Rockets being her favorite team.
She is survived by son David F. Donnell Jr. (Cyndy) of London, Ontario, son, Leslie Joe Donnell of Chirino, TX, daughter Linda D. Bland (Russell) of Angleton TX, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Sister Tink Seaton of Lazbuddie with numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Perry Barnes Jr., Leslie Barnes, Wesley Barnes and sister Mary Lou Menefee.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29 from 5pm till 7pm at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral Services will at Palms Funeral Home Wednesday, June 30 at 11am.
