David Franklin Donnell
February 7, 1921 ~ June 17, 2010
David (Dave) Franklin Donnell, age 89 of Angleton (formally of Richwood) was born 2/7/21 to David K. and Martha F. Donnell in Fisherville, TN went home to his Lord & Savior on June 17, 2010 after a hard fought battle with Alzheimers.
Dave was a retired Navy veteran with 20 years of service to his country. He served in both WWII and the Korean War as a medical corpsman. He then went to work for the state of Texas as a medical officer at TDCJ working at Ramsey, Eastham, and Clemens units. He was an avid hunter and was a past president and lifetime member of the Cottingham Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Brazoria Lions Club for 44 years and served numerous positions in both District and the local chapters. He loved both of these organizations and devoted much of his time to them. He enjoyed camping with friends and family and passed this love on to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Sarah E. of Angleton, son David F. Donnell Jr wife Cyndy of London, Ontario, son Leslie Joe Donnell of Chirino,TX, daughter Linda D. Bland and husband Russell of Angleton, TX, and daughter Mickey D. MacLeod of Tracy City, TN. 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brother, Robert of Clairmore OK, sister Mary Tucker of Clairmore, OK, sister Dorothy Tyndall and husband Boyd of Corpus Christi as well as numerous neices and nephews.
He was proceded in death by his parents and brother Harold Donnell.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 20 6pm to 8pm at Palms Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, June 21 at 11am at Palms in Angleton with graveside service to follow at Angleton Cemetery.
