Ruth Louise Wollam Hudgins

Ruth Louise Wollam Hudgins, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on May 29, 2010, at her home in Georgetown, Texas, with loved ones at her side.
Ruth was born December 19, 1930, in Danbury, Texas, the daughter of Alva J. and Maude Wollam and graduated from Danbury High School in 1949.
She married Tom Hudgins in June, 1950, and they raised three children.
As a result of various promotions during Tom’s career with Phillips Petroleum Company, Ruth and Tom made several moves during their sixty years together.
Ruth created many fond memories and met lifelong friends from her homes in Danbury, Texas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Spartanburg, South Carolina; Bartlesville, Oklahoma;London, England; Singapore;Mount Pleasant, Texas; and Georgetown, Texas.
Ruth is survived by husband, Tom, of Georgetown; daughter, Cheryl McCord and husband, Mark, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Jan Kelly and husband, Denny, of Georgetown; and son, Tom Hudgins Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her only sibling, Mildred Messec, of Danbury, Texas; and five grandchildren, Matt McCord and wife, Kelsey, Morgan McCord, Denny T. Kelly and wife, Michelle, Janelle Turet and husband, Ed, and Spencer Hudgins.
In addition to strengthening her walk with her Lord, Ruth loved making her home a welcome place for family and friends. Blessed with the gifts of graciousness and hospitality, Ruth thrived on hosting others in her home which was often filled with the smell of fresh pies baking in the oven.
A huge supporter of all her children and grandchildren’s activities, she spent countless hours either driving them to practice or cheering them on while they participated. She also enjoyed her various Bible study groups and was a faithful member of the Bartlesville First Baptist Sewing Club.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at the Palms Funeral Parlor in Angleton, Texas.
