Billy D. Mankin, 73, of Angleton died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Angleton Danbury Medical Center surrounded by family and friends who loved him. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, at the Angleton Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Mankin of Angleton; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Karen Mankin of Louisville, KY; daughter, Rhonda Moran of Kingwood; stepdaughters, Linda Yarborough of Angleton, Karen and James Phillips of League City, and Laura and David Moats of Dallas; five grandchildren, Bruce Moran of San Antonio, John and Lauren Moran of Kingwood, and Beau and Alex Mankin of Louisville. He is survived by his best friends of more than 40 years, Denny and Betty McMillan of Angleton.
Honorary pallbearers are John Ray of Brazoria, Ray Tinker of Alvin, and Woody Hazlewood, Judge Neil Caldwell, John Peveto and Dr. Forrest Dunn, all of Angleton. Arrangements are by Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, and online condolences may be sent at www.palmsfuneralhome.com
