Sandra Kaye Journeay Roberts
September 18, 1950 – August 16, 2008
Our Beloved Mother, grandmother sister, Aunt and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 16, 2008. Together she rests in heaven with her parents Thomas Howard and Barbara Jo Journeay. Sandra was born in Houston, TX but was considered a lifelong resident of Angleton and was a member of the graduating class of 1969. She was a dedicated mother, who lovingly raised a family in Angleton and lead by example as a trailblazer in the mortgage and real estate industries.
As a youngster, she spent her summers at her grandparent’s farm riding her favorite horse “Billy”, chasing the calves and running through the cornfields. She learned to drive on a 1941 International Farmall “B” which still remains in the family. Sandra continued her love of horses throughout her life and was one of the first women to ride cutting horses at the Brazoria County Fair during the late 60’s. She was a Texas, proud of her heritage and the lineage of the Journeay family.
Sandra was a creative, Compassionate, inspirational person who thought more of others than of herself. She provided unconditional love and openly shared her memories and life experiences. Her children, family and friends will carry with them her laughter, bright smile and beautiful spirit in their hearts forever.
Sandra leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her devoted children: Shawn Roland Roberts, Shay Allison Olinger and son-in-law Major Greg Olinger, and William Charles Maxwell Roberts.
